Nursery Assistant

Claverham Day Nursery in Battle East Sussex requires a qualified Nursery Assistant to join our friendly team.

We believe in providing a safe, stimulating, and fun environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. Our nursery is known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and our commitment to high-quality early years education. The role requires an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or a relevant equivalent qualification.

The successful candidate will:

  • be an enthusiastic and excellent Early Years practitioner, who can engage children through preparing and participating in a range of play based activities that promote each child’s physical, intellectual, and emotional needs.
  • work with the supervisor to create an exciting and purposeful learning environment.
  • act as a key worker, forming a close, caring relationship with their allocated children and communicating with their parents and carers.
  • be flexible and able to work closely with other EYFS team members
  • be keen to engage in continuing professional development.

The position is 37 hours per week, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year.  The position is paid on Single Status Grade 3, Point 7 £24,027 per annum.

Bank Staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help monitor and support children’s development and well-being.
  • Build strong relationships with children and colleagues.
  • Ensure the safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis.
  • Previous experience in a childcare setting is a plus, but not essential.

This position is paid on Single Status Grade 2 at an hourly rate of £12.26.
